week's end tidbits!

For your viewing pleasure: a tidbits post! Gathering up all the small pieces of the past week/weekend!

+ Tuesday I received an early Christmas present. One of my best friends sent me this brain necklace for me to wear to my neuroscience lab job. It's gonna make me a lot of new friends.

+ A few months ago, before Felix was even born, I sent Micaela's baby girl a fierce pair of sunglasses. Thursday night Micaela sent me a photo of Fe in them and I love it so much. I can't stop looking at it. She's BABY ELTON JOHN! Do you see it? I'm just fascinated. Oh, and check out Marianne's sexy post-workout glow! ;)

+ I went and saw The Hobbit on Sunday morning. Non-3d. It was okay. . . hahaha. I was really excited about seeing it, but then it was just kind of alright. I like Ian McKellan, and I like Martin Freeman, but the whole thing was kind of lackluster. The best part was Bilbo and Gollum in the cave. Hands down.

Afterwards I ate like a hobbit. Potato hash with sausage and gravy, eggs, and New York cheesecake pancakes. . . it was amazing.

+ Last night I watched Dr. Strangelove at one of my favorite bars in Denton. Really hoping the world doesn't end today while I'm driving home! It'll just be me and Katy, against the world, all The Walking Dead-style.

+ Oh, and yesterday I bought some more Christmas presents for my mom and dad and sister. I think I've gone a little overboard. . . Total, I've spent about $500 on them for Christmas, another $100 or so on my friends, and that's not even counting the gas to drive home today. I feel like such an asshole spending so much money at Christmas. It's just that now that I don't get to see my family/all my friends all the time, I go a little crazy when buying them gifts. Giving gifts is my love language, I guess. Is that okay?
