Yesterday was a Craigslist roller coaster.
I found the most perfect loveseat for $50. The dimensions fit my space perfectly, the color wasn't too bad, looked easy to recover, and most importantly, it was $50. But when my friend and I went to get it (at the appointed time) the people wouldn't pick up their phone and no one spoke English in their apartment complex in the ghetto of North Dallas.
When they finally did respond, via text message, they were very rude and cursed at me. The downside of buying shit from Craigslist.
I came home loveseat-less and a little heartbroken, but there's a loveseat at Ikea that will work just as well, but for $300. Eventually, I'll have a couch, yo u guys, eventually. . .
Luckily for me, I did get the two other things I wanted from strangers for cash.
This corner utility shelf is perfect for my space! I can still have my great-grandfather's chair by the TV. I had been planning on getting one just like this, except shorter and wider, and wouldn't had to find a new place for the chair, and move some art around. This is perfect. $30!

Even better I got this great black antique trunk for $12! TWELVE DOLLARS. Unbelievable. It's in perfect rustic condition.
I'm going to use it as a coffee table.
While I was taking photos I thought I might as well show you around my new apartment a bit, too. I'm not completely satisfied yet, but I'm working on it. :)
Below is Katy's Korner, right across from the door. My kitchen is behind the island. Getting rid of the Rubbermaids and maybe getting two small bar stools.
All her toys are kept in a little basket now. Gotta be organized in a small space!
This week I put up clip boards outside of my closet for magazine clips and morning inspiration.
And here's a photo of my apartment from the left side of my bed.
I just started Homeland and I am obsessed already. I've watched two episodes and have just started my third. This is all I'm going to be doing today.

How fun is your place!? And that trunk is PHENOMENAL!
I love your place so much! It's really my style!
I don't know what to make a bigger fuss over, the rude assholes on the phone, the amazing ness that is Katy's corner or the freaking beautiful trunk you scored. My friend has her grandfathers WWII trunk and uses it to lock up her diary and precious goods, I am so so in love with the idea ok of a vintage trunk.

I love how vintage-y your place looks! Craigslist and I have a love-hate relationship!
I absolutely love your apartment, I want clipboards on my wall immediately! Shame about your loveseat but hopefully something better will pop up!
Love Tweet xx
agh! i love it all. that clipboard idea is brilliant! you realy ARE running out of wall space, haha.
Those clipboards really are genius!
Cursed at you? Crazy people >:(
At least the other two worked out and at awesome prices!
I can't believe you snagged that trunk for $12 - amazing find!
I wish I could go treasure hunting with you! sucks about the couch :( but that just means something better might come along (or ikea).
I loveee what you did score though! I was going through some thing and came across a voodoo doll my co-worker gave me from his trip to New Orleans. I thought, this is too cool to get rid of but i need to spring clean. I thought you might want it but didn't know if you would think it was too weird. Ha! I giggled when I spied yours. If you want a twin, I'll stick it in with your bday gift ;)
XO
