target and world market, aka heavens on earth

I cannot go into Target again for the rest of the month of March. I know it's the seventh, but seriously. I can't go back this month. I spent way too much money, and I still have to pay the fee to break my lease! What a dick.

Oh, I can't go to World Market either.

Anywhere, really.

I bought a smaller spice rack for my kitchen, another jug to make sweet tea in (I've drunk nearly an entire pitcher and I only made it yesterday afternoon!), a clearance candle I couldn't resist, a unicorn piggy bank (obsessed with unicorns lately), some new plates (been running out of them too quickly to fill up the dishwasher), and some pint glasses I'm probably just going to store in the freezer. A Taj Mahal teapot because I'm stupid, and some peacock salt and pepper shakers.

My kitchen "theme" is French peacocks, I guess. My friend sent me a peacock print, and I have a pretty sweet peacock mirror, and those great French recipe prints I have coming, and now peacock salt and pepper shakers. That makes sense, right? We'll see how it all turns out. I have a lot of French post cards to put up, too. Over my bed and the kitchen is the only place I have left to put up some art. Crazy! Now I just need a couch and a bookshelf and I'll be finished!

I love settling into a new space, making it your own.

In an attempt to settle in more and in the spirit of trying new things, I bought a lot of fun foodie items at World Market.

Vodka pasta sauce, a local bottle of wine, Irish soda bread mix for St. Patty's, a beer in a Buddha bottle, polenta, chutney for chicken Tikka, sweet potato gnocchi, and some authentic Italian pasta. I also grabbed a whole six pack of Angry Orchard for $8.99.

I'll let you know how everything is! So far I've tried the pasta and vodka sauce with some leftover turkey sausage. Monday night I made BBQ chicken and fried (baked) okra. Mmm. :) I can't wait to make chicken Tikka!

P.S. Today is my father's 62nd birthday. It's his beard's 40th. ;)
